Please join the Community Connections small group which will meet the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Josie Harper Hospice House to make quilts for worthy non profits serving the Omaha area.

Congratulations guild!  Your amazing work is attracting much deserved attention.  We have been invited to be the guest artists at Arts at the Ark, January 25-31, 2010 at the Archdiocese Retreat Center.  By the time we get to the November meeting, we'll have a better idea of how many quilts we hope to hang in conjunction with the "Whine, Women and Song Part II: Still Whining" musical event.  I think that we will be able to handle a large number of quilts so please go through your collections and see if you have a piece or two that you would like to exhibit.  We would really like to feature some of the extraordinary art quilts that are being made in the area.  More

In October, we will quilt for the Nebraska affiliate of the Komen Foundation.  In November, JDRF is the intended recipient.

In September, we worked on an auction piece for Voices for Children.  This wonderful group is a powerful advocate for Nebraska children on a wide variety of issues.  This is the finished quilt top.

This is a new small group open to any and all who want to donate time, talent and supplies to making a difference in our community.  We have a large, easily accessible space reserved for the 2nd Saturday of each month and we hope that many of you will want to come and quilt with us.  We will work from 9-3 and you're welcome to drop in at any point in the day that you're available.  If you only want to come on the month that a particular pet charity is the designated recipient that's okay too.

To nominate a group to receive a quilt, please contact Jan Fry at communityquilts@omahaquiltersguild.org

Tiny little baby quilts

For premature babies in NICU at the Med Center. These quilts only need to be between 32" and 40" in size. Any pattern, any coloration.  Lovely little quilts like you would make for your own children and grandchildren.
When the babies are able to go home, these quilts will go with them.  We have an on-going need so we will collect them at guild meetings each month.
