The judging room worked very smoothly for judging. The aides were quiet, thoughtful and efficient.

The quilts were a delight to study. The Omaha Quilter’s Guild has some very talented quilters. For one thing, you have learned how to bind quilts pretty well! Cindy will be presenting this two part class in an all day class:
Part I – Snow & Ice Dyes
“Snow & Ice Dyes” are all the rage in fiber arts and hand dyed fabric! See the crystallized patterns that emerge when you use snow or ice as a medium to get the dye to the fabric. You will learn a fabulous method to create clear, beautiful images with this direct dye application. Random, playful and full of surprises, each fat quarter in your unique collection will delight and inspire.
Part II – 24 Step Color Mixing
Master the art of mixing a 24-step color gradation out of 3 packets of dye! In this class we will cover the basics of hand dyeing fabric and learn to take the color wheel beyond primary, secondary and tertiary colors. You will learn a system for mixing color, then dye your own 24 fat quarter (6 yard) collection of high quality hand dyed fabric in just a few hours! White Glove	Wear white gloves and help with security during the show. You will walk around and offer to show people the back of quilts and ask them not to touch the quilts. This person may also assist with Vendor Support as needed.(standing/walking position)
Vendor Support	This person will be assigned to take reats to vendors or to watch a booth so that a vendor may have a quick break. This person may also assist with White Glove helper as needed. (standing/walking position)
Volunteer Check In Table	Assists with show support of volunteers. As volunteers come in for their shifts, help them get their white gloves, direct to area they are supposed to help in. (seated position)
Set Up	Assist with the set up of the quilt frames, hanging quilts and getting the show ready to go. (lifting up to 25 pounds, standing/walking position)
Ticket Taker	Stand at the doorway and check wrist bands for entry into the hall. (standing position)
Photographer’s Assistant	Assist the Photographer on her time schedule to capture the quilts on digital media (standing/walking position)
Admissions Table	Two people will collect money and one person to welcome guests and vendors (seated position)
Raffle Quilt	Sell Raffle Tickets (seated position)
Show CD Seller	Take orders for a CD’s of the quilt show – (seated position)
Auction Support	Assist show visitors with auction items, entering bids, getting bid numbers (standing/seated position)
All Day Volunteer	Assist the show chairperson(s) as needed. Duties will vary as assigned. (standing/walking/seated position)
Take Down	Catchers/folders of the quilts, frames take down, storage, quilt organizers/security after takedown. (lifting up to 25 pounds, standing/walking position)

Class: Layers of Love, Lynne Hagmeier, March 10, 2015 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (6 hr Class)

Lynn will teach a 6-hour class from her new book which was released in July titled “Layers of Love.” Lynn’s class will be the same day as our guild meeting. You will be able to pick from 2 different patterns: “30-something” (left) or “Delainey’s Twirls & Swirls” (right). Lynn will have kits available or you can bring your own fabric.
